I am using a MX controller on ver 5. Anyway if anyone can assist thanks, Eugene South Africa. Why can't they just get their boot files from the ? The sets have to be able to talk to the controller to place calls, so getting the boot file from there shouldn't be a problem either. You can set up a local tftp server if you want. Then in the local lan's DHCP options set to be the ip of the local tftp server, or assign it statically in the set. Thanks for the reply MitelTech.
The issue is that the controller is situated in one country and the phones are remote sites in different countries. They are not using the Teleworker solution, however even if they did the sets would still have to connect to the controller to download their software, and don't have controller situated local to the respective countries. They have a wan link across satelite which is very slow that connects the sites.
All they want to achieve is to minimize the bandwidth usage when the phones go out and come back up again for what ever reason. Hi Eugene, I have not done this yet but you can post the tftp files onto an external server if you wish. E internet explorer username system, password password once you have gained access you should beable to copy the relevant files and folders. Like I said I aint tried it. Hope this helps Ian. Thanks all, I knew that if I could find the files the phone needed I could get this to work.
It works. REgards, Eugene. Red Flag This Post Please let us know here why this post is inappropriate. Reasons such as off-topic, duplicates, flames, illegal, vulgar, or students posting their homework.

While both of these provide access to the features of the phone system, they are used for two differently things. The Mitel 'password' is used for accessing things such as the Mitel website portal and may be used for logging into Mitel apps such as the softphone, the Outlook plug-in, and similar software.
The Mitel 'PIN' code is used primarily for accessing your voicemail feature, but may also be used for changing settings on your personal Mitel desk phone. I work from home and they gave me this hard phone to use. If the phone is in SIP mode, then there is a webpage, complete with a great help, and just type in the IP address of the phone into your browser. Good luck. So that didn't work. Try rebooting the phone holding just the button. That worked today except the ip was 0.Fairly basic thing right? Open a web browser and point it to the IP Address of your Mitel Now this options does not restart the controller, only the callserver. To reboot the APC you will need to do this via the server manager not covered in this topic. I like to have a raw session on port open at the same time so I can see what the VM is doing as it shutsdown.

The display tells you that you can cycle the power button after 60seconds — I like to leave it a few minutes just to make sure the shutdown has completed fully and cleanly.
If you have a large estate give the system at least 15mins to come up before you start to panic, all the handsets need to check back in again and this is alot of IP traffic to deal with for a poor that has just been switched on from cold.
For an MXe Server, you must log into the server manager and perform a shutdown. Hi Ryan, The above command will still reboot your controller but there are some hardware resources that do not get reset unless the system is hard rebooted or done via server manager.
Depending on your DB size it can take anywhere between 15mins and half an hour before the system is fully up again. Good point raised. Firstly, I am not aware of a way to programatically reboot the using 3rd party scripts.
Depending on the autonomy of the UPS and what kit you have loaded will depend on how long your engineer has to dial in and shut the controller down.
If you want a belt and braces approach stick the on a dedicated UPS with enough battery to allow your engineers to remotely shut it down.
I am not sure what the shutdown command would be. We always schedule a full FTP Backup of the config every week — so — in the case of power failure etc, if the box came back up spluttering we could always with a few beads of sweat and cups of coffee get back to square one. That being the case, you can initiate a guest shutdown via vcentre if your host is aware of a power down.

The issue is that the Shoretel Connect application will just one day stop connecting to the server. No configuration changes at all. The error message displayed is "Unable to connect to your server at servername. Support tells me clearing temporary internet files should be enough to solve it, but that does not work.
The first time this happened I resolved it by rebuilding the user's profile, but that has not helped in two subsequent instances of this issue. As part of troubleshooting this, I've signed into and out of Shoretel Connect with different user accounts. Like you it doesn't effect everyone at the same time. When setting up new users, I noticed that their account seems to take forever to sign in. Occasionally it times out. I usually kill the task and reboot. Often times, I just have to wait it out for a few minutes.
Eventually it signs in. I've also noticed issues with the softphone feature not working right away. It fails to connect on the first attempt usually.
I get a message that says Softphone registration timed out. I can usually get it to connect after a couple tries though. Just throwing it out there, have you checked the Event Viewer on any of these machines for network disconnects? Packet loss? I had a problem similar to this that I honestly thought was Shoretel's issue, as it turned out, the people having the issue were connected to the same switch in the server room that eventually failed. I never did find a satisfactory fix.
You've heard a lot of work is required for this configuration and it won't get better anytime soon Shoretel is in the talks of buying out Avaya, imagine that shit show if it happened. Curious, if it doesn't cost you anything more than what you're currently devoting to this, why would you switch?

Mitel MiCollab MSL Server – SSL Installation
Students Click Here. Hi all, I have a simple question here, i am trying to install a teleworker IP Phone. This is done by synching to the mitel servers and having a licence available on the AMC and then it will install for you. Thank you for your responce, do I have to have an mbg liscence? You can also subscribe to an external i. Also another method to run a remote phone is if you have a corporate VPN to use.
Have seen users with home phones that they run on the VPN connection they use for their laptop. Under Service link - status i get the following error : The following error occurred during the last sync: An error occurred while receiving ServiceLink configuration information from the Applications Management Centre. If this error persists, contact your solution provider for assistance [Permission denied: synchronization token rejected] Warning: The last 5 registration attempts have failed.
Thats because you don't have a MBG licence for the one you have installed. I clicked on sync at status under application and that error disappeared.
I ve 5 mbg client licsence but still when I make sync I don't find them under mitel border gateway. I can't remember what but I recall some issue with doing it as an install off the CD, not insurmountable but makes it slightly more difficult Is there any licence information on the application page of the MBG near the bottom and does it show as a blade installed under blades?
You see when I go to blades I only get the mitel standard linux. Update list would do the trick. I have to start installing from cd to get the MBG on the list.
